On the morning of 2 August 2027 the Moon covers the Sun completely along a narrow track from the Atlantic to the Indian Ocean. In eastern Libya, the Sun stays hidden for more than six minutes.

The morning in Benghazi

The partial eclipse lasts more than an hour on each side. Totality is the short window when the sky turns dark and the corona appears. Tripoli, Tunis and Cairo see only a partial eclipse, so head east to stand in the shadow.

Wear certified eclipse glasses (ISO 12312-2) during every partial phase. Take them off only during totality.
